USGI A-3 Flyer’s Kit Bag
Sometimes the simplest military gear is the most useful.
The USGI A-3 Flyer’s Kit Bag is a large military gear bag originally designed to carry flight equipment. Its wide-opening design, reinforced carry handles, and uncomplicated main compartment also make it a practical bag for hauling clothing, field gear, camping equipment, vehicle gear, hunting equipment, or anything else that doesn’t need a dozen separate pockets.
Unlike a traditional top-loading military duffle, the Flyer’s Kit Bag uses a full-length zippered opening, making it considerably easier to pack and get to equipment buried inside. A protective storm flap covers the zipper when the bag is closed.
Built to Carry Gear
Heavy webbing runs around the body of the bag to reinforce the carry handles rather than relying on handles attached only at the top. That construction distributes the load through more of the bag when you’re carrying heavier or bulky equipment.
The approximately 23.5” × 13” × 19” dimensions provide a large, open storage area without unnecessary internal organization getting in the way.
Throw in clothing, boots, field equipment, camping supplies, emergency gear or whatever else needs to move from one place to another.

Why the A-3 Flyer’s Kit Bag?
There are bigger deployment bags and more complicated tactical bags, but that’s not necessarily an advantage.
The A-3 gives you a large opening, usable rectangular storage space, reinforced handles and very little wasted space. If you need a straightforward military surplus bag for carrying or organizing gear, that’s exactly the point.
